If you are an logical mathematical learner you may learn your fractions easer this way.

Conversions

To convert a fraction into a percentage you can make the denominator 100. To do this, you have to multiply or divide the denominator, and also the numerator with the same number. Then take the numerator, and add a percentage symbol to the right.

To convert a fraction into a decimal number you have to divide the numerator to the denominator. It's simple!

Equivalent Fractions...

An equivalent fraction is a fraction with another denominator and numerator but can be multiplied or divided to turn it into another fraction of the same value.

Example:-

3/4=75/100 I know this because if i do 4 times 25, it will give me 100. You have to do the same thing on the top that you do on the bottom, so 3 times 25 = 75. The equivalent fraction would be 75 over 100.

To add and subtract fractions:

Ex.   3/4+1/2=a/B

To find this we need to find the lowest common multiple between the two denominators.

Denominator is the bottom part of the fraction. It is what the fraction is out of.

The lowest common multiple of the denominators is 4.

So since 3/4 already has a denominator of 4 you only have to change 1/2.

You always have to do the same to the top as you do to to bottom.

So since 2×2 is 4 we do 2×2=4 and 1×2=2. therefore 1/2=2/4.

Now we can do 3/4+1/2 which is the same as 3/4+2/4.

Now you add the numerators (the top numbers).

So 3+2=5.*YOU DO NOT ADD THE DENOMINATOR IT STAYS THE SAME!

Your answer would be 5/4 or 1 1/4.

That is how you add fractions.

Subtracting

Same as adding!

Just subtract the numerators as long as there are common denominators.

This video will help you understand addition and subtraction with fractions!
